Titolo: Industry 4.0 Implementation and Practices in Additive Manufacturing with Sensors and Advanced Materials for high potential applications

Abstract: Additive manufacturing (AM) is rapidly evolving as a cornerstone of Industry 4.0, integrating digital technologies, smart sensors, and advanced materials to deliver transformative solutions across high-potential applications. This talk explores the implementation and practices of Industry 4.0 in AM, highlighting how sensor-enabled smart manufacturing improves process monitoring, quality control, and predictive maintenance. The presentation will cover advances in multifunctional composites such as carbon fiber reinforced polymers (CFRP), shape-morphing structures, and bio-imnspired designs, as well as biomedical innovations including bioprinting for tissue engineering. Emerging applications in energy systems and geotechnical engineering, such as 3D-printed geogrids, will also be discussed. By combining advanced design strategies with digital manufacturing prctices, this session emphasizes the role of AM as a key enabler of Industry 4.0 for creating sustainable, high-performance, and next-generation products.
